Summary

This report details a framework for using asset management with regards to investment in the Interstate Highway System (IHS) As a national asset, the IHS requires effective management practices and continual investment to remain in an effective state for highway transportation. The difficulty of maintaining the IHS is detailed in the report, as well as ways for state government and anyone else who administers the IHS to administer asset-management practices.
